The three numbers most people skip
Time, capital, and risk. Not naming them is why most career advice rounds off to 'follow your passion'.
Career advice in India tends to round off to "follow your passion" or "just start". Both are useless if you can't answer three questions:
- How many hours a week do you actually have? Not the aspirational number. The honest one. After commute, dependents, and the doomscroll you'll do anyway.
- What's the most you can afford to lose? Not the most you can spend. The amount where, if it disappeared tomorrow, you'd still sleep.
- How much volatility can you tolerate? Some paths pay slowly and steadily. Others pay nothing for nine months and then a lot in the tenth. Knowing which one breaks you matters.
Without these three numbers, every recommendation is fiction. With them, the list of viable paths shortens dramatically — which is exactly what you want.
The Kaarya quiz makes you say all three out loud. That's most of the work. The map is the ceremony.
